The survey from our white paper<\/a>, conducted with VISA<\/strong> among employers in Luxembourg, highlights several significant trends. It reveals figures that clearly point to a profound transformation in expectations and practices.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Employee expectations have significantly increased<\/h2>\n

One of the most striking findings of the survey is that 94% of employers report an increase in employee expectations<\/strong> regarding benefits over the past two years.<\/p>\n

This very high figure shows that employees are no longer satisfied with traditional benefit schemes. They are looking for solutions that can genuinely improve their daily lives and strengthen their purchasing power.<\/p>\n

The most commonly offered benefits today reflect this shift. 37% of employers say they provide support related to childcare<\/strong>, a particularly sensitive area given the high cost of living in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

Similarly, 33% have implemented initiatives promoting mental and physical health<\/strong>, confirming that well-being has become a central pillar of modern HR policies.<\/p>\n

Finally, 32% encourage sustainable mobility, eco-responsibility, or offer discounts with local merchants<\/strong> – proof that employee benefits now extend beyond the strict workplace and into employees\u2019 personal lives.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Still limited adoption of benefit cards<\/h2>\n

Although digitalisation is progressing in Luxembourg, the survey shows that only 47% of employers use a benefit card<\/strong> to distribute benefits such as meal vouchers or gift vouchers.<\/p>\n

This relatively low adoption rate can be explained by several barriers identified by the surveyed companies.<\/p>\n

Nearly half of them, 49%, mention a certain perceived complexity in implementing these solutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition, 39% mention cost as the main obstacle<\/strong>, while 33% express concerns about potential misuse by employees.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These barriers show that, while digital solutions are attractive, their adoption requires support, clear explanations, and a well-defined usage framework.<\/p>\n

Clear benefits for companies already equipped<\/h2>\n

The survey also reveals that employers who have adopted a benefit card quickly observe positive outcomes.<\/p>\n

For example, 33% note that their employees are more familiar with this type of medium<\/strong>, making it easier to use on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Moreover, 31% observe better use of the benefits provided<\/strong>, meaning that the offered schemes become genuinely useful and visible to employees.<\/p>\n

Finally, 29% say they have greater confidence in the solution<\/strong> once it has been deployed, demonstrating that initial concerns decrease significantly after implementation.<\/p>\n

Strong demand for a single card bringing all benefits together<\/h2>\n

One of the most important insights relates to employers\u2019 desire for simplification.<\/p>\n

According to the survey, 89% of employers find it attractive to consolidate all benefits onto a single card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This preference shows that companies are primarily looking to reduce administrative workload, limit tool fragmentation, and offer a consistent employee experience.<\/p>\n

A single card would make it possible to combine meal benefits, gift benefits, well-being allowances, mobility support, and merchant offers into one unified solution.<\/p>\n

Such a centralised system would benefit both HR teams – by saving time in administration – and employees, who would no longer need to juggle multiple cards or platforms.<\/p>\n

Digital solutions appeal to employers: mobile apps in high demand<\/h2>\n

The digitalisation of employee benefits is another key driver of modernisation.<\/p>\n

According to the survey, 81% of employers find the idea of offering a dedicated mobile app for employee benefits attractive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This very high figure shows that an app is not just an added convenience; it meets a real need for transparency, simplicity, and autonomy.<\/p>\n

For employees, an app allows them to check their balance, review transactions, locate partner merchants, or receive alerts about new offers.<\/p>\n

For companies, it reduces HR-related queries, limits errors, and enables smoother communication.<\/p>\n

What these figures mean for companies in Luxembourg<\/h2>\n

The survey results paint a clear picture: employees now expect solutions that are more personalised, more useful, and more accessible.<\/p>\n

At the same time, employers are looking for simple, digital tools capable of centralising multiple benefits in one place.<\/p>\n
